Exploring an entire continent can be daunting, so here’s a variety of itineraries you can mix and match to suit your interests and time constraints. I spent a month in Australia exploring all the highlights, from the outback to the Great Barrier Reef.

It was easy to see why Australia’s cities are ranked some of the most livable in the world, with their proximity to nature, general safety, and thriving cultural scene. It is also easy for visitors to love, so don’t be afraid to base yourself in Sydney, Melbourne, or cairns while taking adventurous day trips.

Hawaii

One of the most gorgeous islands on Earth, I’d say Hawaii should be towards the top of that list. Stunning mountains, beaches, canyons, and waterfalls- Hawaii’s natural beauty is postcard perfect. Luckily, much of it has been preserved, you’ll just need to hop on a longish flight to go see it.

There are are few things definitely worth blowing the budget for in Hawaii like a helicopter ride or a stay at the 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay, so I’ve compiled all the details about my experiences there so you know what it’s really like. My balanced itineraries let you add in unique experiences like those while still connecting with local restaurants and beaches along the way.
