The Swiss Business Class Lounge in Zurich is some of the best fun I’ve had watching planes and sitting outside with a drink. As Swiss airline’s hub is Zurich, you’ll find that the lounge reflect’s their clean and efficient image with a few perks like the outdoor terrace and a live cooking station.
SWISS Business Lounge Location & Access
You’ll find the lounge by following the signs for the SWISS Business and Senator Lounge in Terminal E. After following the signs, you’ll arrive to a staircase in the middle of the hallway, go upstairs or use the elevators to the right to find the Swiss lounge.
This terminal is for non-Schengen flights (going outside the European Union). You may use this lounge even if you have a Schengen zone flight, but you’ll have to clear passport control. Alternatively, you could use the more crowded lounge in terminal A.
This lounge can be accessed by Swiss business class passengers, business class passengers on Star Alliance partner airlines, Miles & More Frequent Traveller members, and Star Alliance Gold members. Star Alliance Gold members are the only ones that can bring a guest and access the nicer Swiss Senator Lounge.
I had access to the SWISS Business Lounge on my business class ticket on SWISS airlines from Zurich to Miami. I booked this flight as part of a larger itinerary starting in Cappadocia, Türkiye through Avianca Lifemiles. My flight on Turkish Airlines business class went smoothly and arrived on time, giving me around three hours to enjoy the lounge.

SWISS Business Lounge Seating Areas
Upon entering the lounge, you’ll find a wall of magazines providing reading material for your stay or long flight. They have a handy layout map posted, so you have an understanding of the various seating options available. There are zones for working, relaxing, dining, and extra seating.

There are plenty of spots to soak up the natural light, from armchairs, to bar stools, to dining areas.

I spent the entirety of my stay in the Swiss lounge outside on the terrace. The weather was perfect, 75 and sunny! There are a few different seating options, from benches, to chairs, to small picnic table style tables. There are not too many seats outside and they are pretty spaced out, so it never felt crowded.

SWISS Lounge Food & Drink Selection
After coming from Türkiye, where alcohol was in short supply, it was refreshing to see a display of plenty of wines and a variety of alcohol. There are also bottles beers, water, and soda, along with pitchers of fresh juice.

With the selection of drinks available I was able to put together a Bellini and later a Negroni. Ice was located in the fridge next to the juice. There are multiple espresso coffee machines that are located further in the lounge. These were understandably busy in the morning as the lounge was fairly full.

For breakfast there was a decent selection of cold cuts, fruit, bread, and cereal. There was some hot food available and chef that could prepare egg dishes made to order. For lunch the live cooking is changed to a pasta station where the chef prepares your pasta based on your selections.

One of my favorite surprises was finding an entire cooler of Mövenpick ice cream. It was the perfect treat to enjoy out on the terrace.

SWISS Lounge Amenities
There is Free Wifi access via this kiosk. Scan your boarding pass to receive your access code. Be sure to set this up while inside, because I could not find the right wifi network outside.

The bathrooms are modern and clean, despite definitely being well used as there are only four stalls in the women’s bathroom. It is nice that the stalls are fully enclosed with walls for privacy.

There are also showers available, but I did not use them here since I had just showered in the Turkish lounge in Istanbul. Speak with the front desk if you’d like to reserve one of the shower suites.
Bottom Line
The SWISS business lounge in Zurich isn’t overly luxurious or large, but it delivers on the main points. There is a nice selection of food and beverages that you can enjoy in a variety of seating types to suit your needs. The live cooking allows you to customize a meal to your tastes and gives a more premium feeling than the standard buffet. The terrace is a fabulous bonus if the weather allows. I had a great time here and would be happy to visit again.
