The Capital One Venture card makes miles easy to earn and redeem at a low $95 annual fee. With a healthy sign up bonus, good transfer partners, and credits that will appeal toward travelers, the Capital One Venture card will fit right into the wallet of most consumers.
Miles Earning
2x Everywhere
The Capital One Venture Rewards card makes is simple to earn on every purchase. You’ll get 2 miles per dollar spent everywhere, making this the ideal card for all those miscellaneous expenses, shopping, and bills. Miles don’t expire, so feel free to save them for your next trip.
5x in the Capital One Travel Portal
Earn even more with 5x on purchases made through Capital One’s travel portal. There you can book hotels, flights, vacation rentals, and car rentals.
Be sure to compare prices on other sites before booking to be sure the extra miles are worth the price variance.
Travel Portal Price Protection and Matching
The Capital One Travel Portal has Hopper price prediction built right in, so it tells you whether this is the best time to book your flight or not. If it recommends you purchase it, and the price drops within the next ten days of purchase, you’ll automatically receive a travel credit of up to $50 for the difference in fare.
They also accept price matches on the same flight, hotel, or car within 24 hours of booking with Capital One. Call their specialists so they can verify the price match claim and you’ll get the difference back in travel credit.
Redeeming Miles
Purchase Eraser
Erase travel purchases using your miles for 1 cent each. The joy of free is real, covering travel expenses after the fact. This is great for things that there is no good way to use miles through transfer partners to cover. Some examples are ride shares, airline fees, and rental cars.
You can also redeem your miles directly in the travel portal.
Transfer to Partners
These points can also be transferred to airline and hotel partners for even more value. Transfer to Virgin Atlantic to travel to London for as little at 6,000 miles. Build a multi stop itinerary around the world by transferring miles to Air Canada Aeroplan. Fly Air France, Delta, or KLM with Flying Blue. This is only a few highlights of their transfer partners, but Capital One Miles definitely put the world within your reach.
No Foreign Transaction Fees
With no foreign transaction fees, the Venture cards are great for international travelers. Pay for everything beforehand without fees and tap away while you are abroad. This also means you can select the foreign currency when paying to get the best exchange rate.
Global Entry or TSA PreCheck Credit
Another great feature for travelers is the up to $120 credit for Global entry or TSA PreCheck. You’ll have this credit available to use once every four years, which is how long it lasts. After four years you’ll need to renew it and pay the fee again.
TSA PreCheck will let you breeze through airport security without taking off your shoes or removing items from your bag. If you only travel domestically, then TSA PreCheck is all you need.
Global Entry includes TSA PreCheck and makes returning home from travel even easier with kiosks making customs an expedited process. While it takes an in person interview, if you travel internationally then opt for Global Entry.
